J.L.
Pettiet was inducted into the "USCHI Hall of
Fame." He and his wife, Modena, reside in Tulia,
Texas. He and Modena have been in the harvesting business
for many years.
J.L.
aided in forming the U.S. Custom Harvesters, Inc.,
in 1983, and served as its president for five years.
He spent many countless hours promoting the importance
of this association, encouraging many people to join
throughout all of the wheat belt states. He contacted
major equipment and machinery companies to get involved
with the association. As word spread, more people
became interested and membership increased.
J.L.
made trips to promote the organization and to work
on issues. He made a special trip to Austin, TX to
meet with Texas Legislators for obtaining Over-Width,
Over-Size and Annual Permits. He testified on the
house floor and aided in getting them approved.
USCHI
has come a long way since those days. J.L. has touched
many lives over the years, and they in return have
also touched his. His strong dedication and determination
have made a big difference in the U.S. Custom Harvesting
industry. Without people like J.L. and others like
him who helped start this organization, we might not
have the U.S.C.H.I. organization that we have today.
We
are honored to induct J.L. into the USCHI Hall of
Fame. |
