I need to clarify the comments that are needed right now are for the SPECIAL PERMIT. The comments that we needed to get this spring were for the rulemaking changes. When this process advances and goes into the Federal Register - we will need to send comments once again. This could happen this fall. As soon as I know more, I will be pleading for help once again. Thanks to all of you who have taken the time to send your comments (specialpermits@dot.gov).

i would like to add to my msg. below that i would like to find a position running a combine. I have plenty of guys that would love to hire me as a trucker, but i don't enjoy driving a truck. I have plenty of exprience running a combine and working on them as well. I have harvested wheat, soybeans, corn, sorgum, safflowers, and sunflowers. I have been the manager of a large farm operation near Abilene, Texas and I have had many workers under me. I know what it takes to keep a harvesting operation going. I don't know much about the new combines, but i can learn very quickly.

******IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR USCHI MEMBERS******

The Special Permit that would allow us to haul up to 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel without a haz mat or tanker endorsement on a Class A CDL license (which was requested this spring) has moved forward and was listed in the June 10th Federal Register. We were given a 30 day comment period which ended July 10. However, the deadline came and went and no comments were submitted. Contact was made with PHMSA and they will allow us an additional two week period to get our comments of support to them.

You've got two different ways to show your support for this issue. You can mail your comments (IN TRIPLICATE) to Record Center, Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation, Washington, DC 20590 **OR** you can email your comments to specialpermits@dot.gov

REFER TO: Special Permit #14862-N in the SUBJECT line.

Whichever way you choose to show your support of this issue PLEASE JUST DO IT!! If you want change - you've GOT to be a part of getting the change made!

This Special Permit has been created for members of USCHI only.

Thanks for taking time from your busy schedule to do this. Remember - you've only got two weeks to do it. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 402/657-5803 (Tracy Zeorian).

It's been a while since I've been on here pleading for your comments regarding the fuel tank issue. Some of those members out there that I KNOW this affects have not yet left a comment. We're up to 104 now. We should have many, many more than that! If you want the people within the DOT who are working on this issue for us to really know what we're up against with this ridiculous regulation, you MUST let them know!!! We've worked on this issue for several years and it has finally reached this point. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE take the time and voice your opinion regarding this issue!! I created a link on the homepage that will help you with the process. You can even print a copy of the instructions before you sit down to type your comments. I know this isn't the best time for any of us and I don't know how much longer they'll accept the comments - so when you can - do your part! Thanks so much.
