I've received quite a few requests for employment with custom harvesters. This information will be shared with other custom harvesters at the March 2009 convention. However, another place to look for harvesters needing help would be the link "Classified Ads". There's a section for "help wanted". Make sure you view those listings and give them a call. Otherwise, keep sending your information and I will add you to the listing. jz45239@windstream.net

Hi
I am enquiring to find out what opportunities there are for my 18 year old son.
Richard lives in Ireland and has worked on a local farm every weekend and school holiday since he was seven.
A couple of years ago we watched a BBC TV program about harvesting crews travelling throughout the US.
Since then Richard has frequently talked about joining a crew in the US.
Unlike many young people Richard lives to work and will be able to provide exceptional references from:
His previous school
His local technical college
His local young Farmers club
His recent employer
His employer is a kitchen fitter who has had to lay off staff due to the current recession.
Would there be opportunities for him to work with a crew this year?
Please feel free to contact me:
Ckinsella@gmail.com
Thanks Colin
PS Richard passed his theory and practical car driving tests first time. The average pass rates are around 50%

Members please note that the discussion board is for topics of discussion, and those who have general questions or who are possible employees. If you would like to advertise for acerage, that should be done in the classifieds. Thanks for your help and consideration in this matter.

I'm putting together a listing to be handed out at convention that will have information about everyone who has inquired about a job with the harvest - whether silage or grain. If you'd like to email me your information, I'd sure be glad to include it on the list - jz45239@windstream.net. I'm sure someone would LOVE to hire you!

Would it be the one from 1947? If so, the name of that one is "Wild Harvest". This one had Alan Ladd in it. There was one in 1980 called "Amber Waves" with Dennis Weaver in it. I've heard about the "Wild Harvest" but have never been able to catch it on cable. I've tried purchasing a copy but, apparently, it wasn't made available to the public. Hope this helps!

When I was a kid I remember watching a custom harvest movie. It had one crew with John Deeres and the other with Gleaners. A tornado was in the end. Anyone know the title?
