Yeah, we don't have the stress of having to hire help. My husband and I do the job and the girls handle the rest of the trailer house duties. It works for us!! Zamora Harvesting - are you members of USCHI? We'd sure like to have you join, if you're not! We'd really like to get more cotton harvesters involved with the organization. Call or email the office if you're interested.

I haven't added an update to our operation for quite some time. We're in Montana now. Been cutting for 2 weeks. Some rain days in between. The worst part of the past 2 weeks is that we had to say goodbye to two of the girls on Friday. They're home now - first day of school for 8th grade tomorrow and for college on the 25th. The youngest (5th grade) opted to stay with mom and dad - so she's bouncing between going to the field all day or staying with local friends. We had her in the field all day today. I think she's really enjoying being an "only" child. I miss the other two very, very much!!! I should be used to the goodbyes by now!! Probably be up here for a couple more weeks - then we'll all be home. Modern Marvels is doing a segment on "wheat" beginning the 21st of this month. Make sure you check it out - if you can - and see our very own Ron and Kristy Misener family being featured. I can't wait to watch!

Glad you liked the videos. There are a lot of pictures of that Ford pickup. It was always sitting in my dads driveway. Funny you should mention it. I had several bad dreams about that old Ford after I sold it when Pete died. I would dream he was looking for it but it was gone. There is a lot of other stuff on my website www.stubblebum.net We just went through Montana on I90 yesterday on the way to Seattle. Where do you cut there? my em is stubblebum@windstream.net I'll send you some pictures of the Ford when we get home

Roger - Jim and I watched your videos while sitting in the bunk of our semi (heading for MT). What great pictures you have!! Jim made mention that maybe we'd see "our" 1975 pickup - used to be your dads - we think. He bought it at your sale in 1982 or 1983. He said you should see it - you'd still be proud of it. People are always wanting to buy it from him but he hasn't been able to give it up. The girls wish it didn't burn so much gas.....they'd like to be driving it! Thanks so much for sharing the videos - I'm going to pass the link to my dad - Larry Hancock.

I thought you might remember him. Seems like I remember you guys visiting together in Cherokee, OK. Would that be right? I remember him always talking very highly of the Peters and the Nash names. I did get the link to work. I had to add www - http://www.stubblebum.net/home-video-flv/harvest/harvest_movies1.htm
I haven't watched them yet - am anxious to, though!! So many memories of being with my grandpa and grandma in the early 70's. And, being with grandpa during fall harvest as a little girl. It will be fun to see what you have!! Thanks for sharing them with us, Roger!

I've been wanting to get into custom harvesting but want to start on a more local level rather than full blown out west harvest. I live in north Ms and thought i might try to get some jobs in the delta to get my feet wet. Any advice would really be helpful to getting this business started one day.
